Summary

Be careful what you wish for in this magical comedy about the pitfalls of rebirth!

When she turns ten years old, Adele von Ascham is hit with a horrible headache--and memories of her previous life as an eighteen-year-old Japanese girl named Kurihara Misato。 That life changed abruptly, however, when Misato died trying to aid a little girl and met god。 During that meeting, she made an odd request and asked for average abilities in her next life。 But few things--especially wishes--ever go quite as planned。

Okay, so, if you read the synopsis for this one, it seems like we were left with a cliffhanger at the end of volume 5 and then we're not getting to find out what happens in volume 6! After a slight dip in quality in the previous volume, I was happy to see the Crimson Vow return to their usual hijinks and adventures。Oh。 As I was writing this, I finally realized who that is on the cover。

While it started with some interesting progress on the discovery "quest" started a few volumes ago, that main story kinda pettered out into short stories。 Still it was good of the rest of the group to understand just how much they rely on Mile, and I hope they will make some progress for their own sakes from now on。。。 While it started with some interesting progress on the discovery "quest" started a few volumes ago, that main story kinda pettered out into short stories。 Still it was good of the rest of the group to understand just how much they rely on Mile, and I hope they will make some progress for their own sakes from now on。。。 。。。more

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: one of my favorite things about this series is the way that the girls are just being themselves and doing their own thing, and if any guys want to fall for them or idealize (or idolize) them, well, that's on the guys。 The girls are never shamed for their choices or lack of interest。 I've said it before, but it bears repeating: one of my favorite things about this series is the way that the girls are just being themselves and doing their own thing, and if any guys want to fall for them or idealize (or idolize) them, well, that's on the guys。 The girls are never shamed for their choices or lack of interest。 。。。more

This one meanders a bit but the characters are still bright and charming。This is also the latest English translation available。 Volume 7 is going to be a while I guess。

Nothing really much to say about this vol other than it being par on the course for this series。 While the antics are funny at times, the lack of direction does drag down the potential this series has。 Some could argue that it is a slice-of-life story, but true SoL stories tend to be short and sweet yet profound, which unfortunately for this novel only mostly has the short part down, maybe the sweet sometimes, but barely any on the last part。 It still flops as fantasy-battle series too, since th Nothing really much to say about this vol other than it being par on the course for this series。 While the antics are funny at times, the lack of direction does drag down the potential this series has。 Some could argue that it is a slice-of-life story, but true SoL stories tend to be short and sweet yet profound, which unfortunately for this novel only mostly has the short part down, maybe the sweet sometimes, but barely any on the last part。 It still flops as fantasy-battle series too, since the overpoweredness of Adele doesn't really impress and generally just makes it rather boring at times。 The characters are likeable but not enough to make this series a worthwhile read。 。。。more

Volume 6 of Didn't I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?! marks the point I reached in the web novels before beginning the Light Novels。 This particular volume doesn't stray much from the web novel though events do feel like they happen slightly faster。 Additionally there is content I didn't get to in the web novel that possibly took place later in the web novel or as extra chapters added for the sake of the novel。 This volume feels a little longer than the previous volumes due to Volume 6 of Didn't I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?! marks the point I reached in the web novels before beginning the Light Novels。 This particular volume doesn't stray much from the web novel though events do feel like they happen slightly faster。 Additionally there is content I didn't get to in the web novel that possibly took place later in the web novel or as extra chapters added for the sake of the novel。 This volume feels a little longer than the previous volumes due to the fact that it isn't made up of mostly side stories or "extra chapters" but at the same time the timeline doesn't add up very well though that doesn't appear to be because it's a translation and more because the authors style is to tell segments of short stories about his characters only vaguely paying attention to the order they put them in。 A little more world building takes place and a few instances of combat but mostly this story is a comedy and slice of life。 If you enjoyed the previous volumes you will definitely enjoy this one as it's much better than volume 5 and more story driven。 。。。more
